First, we want to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of our new and returning customers for choosing our bookstore to fulfill your reading needs this year. Your continued support means the world to us, and we're so grateful for the chance to be part of your reading journey.

This year, we’ve been more selective than ever with our book picks. We’ve placed a special emphasis on featuring books by male authors and independently published books. While the latter proved more challenging than anticipated—thanks to barriers like prospective titles not being available via traditional channels and independent authors struggling to keep inventory in stock—we didn’t let that stop us. We’ve spent more time than ever researching and curating books from authors who do have their titles available. And we’re proud to share that we introduced over 10 independently published titles in 2024, with plans to add even more next year.

2025 is just around the corner, and while we can’t predict exactly what’s to come for us as a community and a culture, one thing is certain: our commitment to celebrating Black voices and stories will never stop. We will continue to read Black, shop Black, and highlight the work of incredible Black authors—independent and otherwise—throughout the upcoming year.
